Fuentes cercanas confirman que Paul «sOAZ» Boyer, uno de los jugadores con más renombre de la escena occidental de League of Legends, ha llegado a un acuerdo verbal para volver a competir, esta vez junto a WAVE Esports en la Prime League alemana . Además, la organización austriaca también ha cerrado un acuerdo verbal con Mirai, Xoura, Bung y Adept para completar su roster de cara a 2022.

Por tanto, estaríamos ante un muy esperado regreso del toplaner francés tras dos años sin pisar la grieta en Europa, donde jugó por última vez junto a Misfits Gaming en la LEC en 2019.

sOAZ no nos abandona

Algunos profesionales de League of Legends parece que nunca acaban por cansarse de la emoción que aporta la competición. Este parece ser el caso de sOAZ, quien ya había anunciado el pasado 22 de octubre su intención de volver a competir como jugador, tras pasar todo 2021 como parte del coaching staff de LDLC OL en la LFL.

Tras haber mantenido tryouts y negociaciones con diversas organizaciones, entre las que se pueden mencionar equipos de la LFL como el propio LDLC o Team Oplon, finalmente habría llegado a un acuerdo verbal con WAVE Esports, una organización relativamente nueva en el panorama de League of Legends, para competir en la Prime League alemana de cara a 2022.

Su vuelta a la competición, aunque esta vez dentro del panorama de las ERLs, significaría una nueva oportunidad para sOAZ de volver a rendir al máximo nivel, después de un desafortunado 2020 como toplaner de Immortals en la LCS. Según palabras del propio sOAZ, su intención sería la de «volver a LEC y Mundiales«.

WAVE apunta a mejorar resultados

Es probable que muchos de los que conocéis a sOAZ nunca hayáis oído hablar de WAVE Esports, en especial si no estáis familiarizados con la escena competitiva alemana. WAVE es un club de esports con sede en Austria, y son más conocidos en el mundo por su presencia en la escena de Fortnite, tanto a nivel competitivo como e cuanto a marca e influencers.

Su entrada en League of Legends se produce el pasado verano de 2021, tras adquirir la plaza de Ad Hoc Gaming en la Prime League, el cual tuvo que vender su plaza por problemas económicos, según comunicaba el propio club. Sin embargo, su primer split fue algo desafortunado, terminando octavos con un resultado de 5-13, y teniendo que jugar la Summer Relegation, que sin embargo ganarían manteniendo así la plaza.

Por lo tanto, la organización austriaca busca entonces comenzar su primer año en League of Legends con mejor pie. Además de los servicios de sOAZ, la organización habría llegado a un acuerdo verbal para mantener a Salah «Mirai» Lmimouni, Jakob «Bung» Gramm y Andreas «Adept» Blikfeldt, con quienes ya compitió el el pasado torneo de descenso. Finalmente, en la midlane tendríamos a Xoura, un jugador sin experiencia previa en ERLs. Por consiguiente, el nuevo roster, en caso de confirmarse, estaría formado por:

• Paul «sOAZ» Boyer
• Salah «Mirai» Lmimouni
• Xoura
• Jakob «Bung» Gramm
• Andreas «Adept» Blikfeldt

Dicho roster, que estaría entrenado por Markus «DeliveryPanda» Appelhoff, buscaría combinar la enorme experiencia que jugadores como sOAZ pueden aportar con individuos más rookies, como es el caso de Mirai y Xoura

Tendremos que esperar hasta enero de 2022 para poder ver más de sOAZ y su camino en las ERLs.

The player has reportedly reached an agreement with Austrian organization WAVE Esports to compete in the Prime League

 

According to sources, Paul «sOAZ» Boyer, one of the most renowned players in Western League of Legends , has reached a verbal agreement to return to compete, this time with WAVE Esports in German Prime League. In addition, the Austrian organization has also closed a verbal agreement with Mirai, Xoura, Bung and Adept to complete its roster for 2022.

We would thus be facing a long-awaited return of the French toplaner after two years without stepping the rift in Europe, where he last played alongside Misfits Gaming in 2019 LEC.

sOAZ still won’t leave us

WAVE aims to improve results

Many of us who know sOAZ have probably never heard of WAVE Esports, especially if you are not familiar with the German competitive scene. WAVE is an esports club based in Austria, and they are best known in the esports world for their presence in Fortnite, both competitively and in terms of branding and influencers.

Their entry into League of Legends comes starts in 2021 Summer, after acquiring Ad Hoc Gaming‘s slot in Prime League due to economic difficulties, as communicated by the club itself. Their first split was somewhat unfortunate, finishing 8th with a result of 5-13, and having to play Summer Relegation, which they would win, thus keeping their place.

Therefore, the Austrian organization is now looking to start their first year in League of Legends with a better footing. In addition to sOAZ, the organization would have reached a verbal agreement to keep Salah «Mirai» Lminouni, Jakob «Bung» Gramm and Andreas «Adept» Blikfeldt, with whom they already competed in said relegations.
